Object Handling Key Persons Course (3 Day Course)

Aims and Intended Learning Outcomes

Learner should be able to:

  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge of current legislation that affects them, their job, their employer and employees
  • Understand their vulnerability to injury when undertaking Manual Handling tasks
  • Understand the workings of the spine and how to reduce the risks of spinal injury
  • Demonstrate an appreciation of the principles of biomechanics
  • Demonstrate an understanding of ergonomics
  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge of risk assessment
  • Demonstrate the skills required to undertake Manual Handling manoeuvres more safely in their specific working environment
  • Demonstrate the skills and confidence to convey Manual Handling knowledge and skills to others

Assessment and Certification

The course assessment will comprise of:

  • Delivery of a group mini-training session in order to assess teaching skills and organisation, and delivery of appropriate course content
  • A practical skills assessment, which takes place continuously throughout the practical element of the course using our Moving & Handling Passport Assessment Scheme

Upon successful completion of the course, the learner will receive a certificate from Well Handled Ltd which is valid for two years.
