Moving & Handling of Children (1 Day Course)

Aims and Intended Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course the learner shall:

  • Understand how current legislation affects them as an employee, and how it affects their employer
  • Understand their vulnerability to Manual Handling injuries
  • Understand the workings of the spine with relation to the ways the learner conducts Manual Handling tasks, and be better able to avoid back injuries caused by poor posture and inefficient movement
  • Be able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of commonly used 'controversial techniques'
  • Be able to demonstrate their ability to move and handle children or adolescents using only safer handling techniques

Assessment and Certification

The course assessment will comprise of:

  • Practical assessment by the trainer
  • A short Q&A session which will assess the learner's understanding of the theoretical component

Upon successful completion of the course, the learner will receive a certificate from Well Handled Ltd which is valid for one year.

This course is accredited by OCN Credit4Learning at Level 2
