Well Handled has successfully completed a training induction programme for Tees Valley Care Alliance.

Well Handled is proud to support a worthy cause by pledging sponsorship to the Chilli Challenge. The Chilli Challenge is a mexican themed event to raise valuable funds for St Oswald's Hospice in Northumberland; featuring a charity auction and a guest appearance by Gary Tiplady - the world's most famous Jaws look-a-like!

The annual DNEX Exhibition takes place on 21^st and 22^nd October 2009 at Metro Radio Arena. The North's biggest and best Independent Living Event. The event offers the public and professionals the opportunity to view an extensive range of moving and handling, mobility and disability equipment and services under one roof at Newcastle Metro Radio Arena. Exhibitions include Arjo, Cefndy Healthcare, Care-Ability Healthcare, Lynch Healthcare, Westholme, Age Concern, Disability North and Leonard Cheshire Disability.

The annual National Back Exchange Conference will take place from 28^th-30^th September at Hinckley International Conference Centre. The title of this years conference is "The Key to International Success". The conference offers a dynamic mix of moving and handling and patient handling sessions and workshops, alongside an extensive equipment exhibition from companies such as Arjo, Lisclare, Select Healthcare, Mangar International, Astor Bannerman and Disabled Living Foundation.

Well Handled working in partnership with Northumberland County Council in development and provision to Schools of moving and handling traning and assessments of children with with special physical requirements entering mainstream schools.

Well Handled have gained work with Northumberland County Council to provide Display Screen Assessment for all council employees. The hope is to address ergonomic and well being issues that can arise in an office environment.

Well Handled have been drafted in to support South Tees Primary Care Trust through the National Pandemic Flu Service. Well Handled have been providing moving and handling training to emergency support staff to cope with the possible epidemic.

Well Handled successfully won a tender for moving and handling training and consultancy services to Hartlepool Social Services. Iain Bolton, of Well Handled, said “ having worked with Hartlepool Council for five years now, we are looking forward to continuing our relationship”.

Well Handled has been developing new courses in diabetes awareness, catheter care and in essential drug administration over the past few months with the Durham Employers Care and Health Alliance. This will greatly expand our network and create new job opportunities at Well Handled.

Well Handled has won a competitive pitch to provide a new range of training courses for the Tees Valley Care Alliance, supported by Skills for Care. The courses will create new training opportunities for independent care sector in the Tees Valley Area. We look forward to starting this project in the autumn.
